FRANKLIN
The Franklin Department of Parks & Recreation hosted its fifth annual Easter Eggs-travaganza last Friday. Over 150 people were in attendance. The event, which took place inside and outside the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center, featured many activities such as an egg race, sack race, arts and crafts, limbo, egg toss, karaoke, Easter golf, spin-a-prize and much more.

Prizes were rewarded to winners. Inflatables and a D.J. were present and all-you-can-eat hot dogs, popcorn, sno-cones and cotton candy.

Immediately following these festivities the Easter hunt begins. There were over 800 eggs filled with candy and toys.

The event concluded with 15 golden egg recipients who each received a big chocolate Easter bunny.

“Special thanks to the sponsors of this event this year, Oak Street Senior Services, Cover 3, Kids Kab, Camp 25 and Urban City Kidz for all donations, help and assistance to make this year’s hunt a success,” said Sammara Bailey, FDPR Program specialist. “We could not have done it without all you help and support.”
