COURTLAND
For many folks as summer wanes into fall, our thoughts turn toward settling in to new or old routines. Getting back into the rhythm of life that feels more normal. It also makes us think about getting back into our religion. Now, I am not talking about our other religion — football — but the life of faith where we grow deeper in love of God and our love and care for one another.
Courtland United Methodist Church invites you to join us for our “Fall Kick-Off” on Sunday, Sept. 9, at 11 a.m. Come dressed in comfortable casual clothes. During our worship celebration we invite all students and teachers to bring their “School Bags” back packs and briefcases for a “Blessing of the Backpacks” for a new school year. Even if your school year has already begun we want to pray over you and your school work tools. We will also be recognizing those students moving up to new Sunday School classes as well as presenting Bibles to many of our children. If your child needs a Bible, please contact the church office at 623-2240. During the morning message I will talk about the importance of learning.
After worship we invite you to join us on the front lawn under the shade trees for our Fall Kick-Off celebration. Lunch will be provided. There will be yard games, photo booth, a petting zoo from The Teeny Tiny Farm, bounce house, fire trucks and more. Everyone is welcome. Bring a friend!
