James Murray Bradshaw

GATES, N.C. — James Murray Bradshaw, 91, passed away on Aug. 28, 2018, in his home surrounded by his family.
Born in Sedley, Virginia, he was a son of the late Jeptha Jahue and Nancy Jane Blythe Bradshaw, and was predeceased by his loving wife of 68 years, Madeline Smith Bradshaw; a sister, Mildred B. Robinson; and four brothers, Herman J. Bradshaw, Bernard Ed Bradshaw, J.J. Bradshaw Jr. and Robert Bradshaw.
Murray was a World War II Army veteran, and a retired electrician with Champion Paper Company in Franklin.
Survivors include two daughters, Jean B. Derby (Hunter) of Gates, and Marie B. Pope of Casselberry, Florida; a son, Jim Bradshaw (Jane) of Thousand Oaks, California; a brother, Melvin Bradshaw of South Boston, Virginia; three grandchildren, Robbie Britt (Debbie,) Greg Britt (Monica) and Katie Marie Bradshaw; three great-grandchildren, Tyler Britt, Braxton Newsome, Terry Lynn Lassiter; and three great-great-grandchildren, Kristian Lassiter, Brianna Lassiter and Haley Derby.
The memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8, in South Quay Baptist Church with Pastor Richard Baird and Pastor Kyle Truman officiating.
