STAFF REPORT

FRANKLIN

Due to the approach and strength of Hurricane Florence and the severe weather conditions predicted by the National Weather Service, Dr. Dan Lufkin, president of Paul D. Camp Community College, announced that all PDCCC campuses would close effective on Wednesday, Sept. 12, and remain closed until further notice.

However, all staff are still required to report tomorrow from 8 a.m. to noon. The notice to PDCCC employees states that “as we rollout actions associated with this decision, it is imperative that all employees (faculty and staff) report to your assigned locations from 8 a.m. ’til noon tomorrow for the purpose of helping us secure equipment, teaching materials and other pertinent fixtures. Given the age and condition of our building and roof, we need to protect items from storm-related damages (water and wind.) You will be given supplies and materials to accomplish this task in your respective areas. Please wear comfortable work clothing for this effort… We encourage everyone to take precautions to ensure your own safety and that of your family and loved ones for both during and after the storm.”

PDCCC intends to continue to monitor the situation and will provide frequent updates regarding reopening the college. Messages will appear via email, on the college’s website and by text alerts.
