Blanche V. Whitehead

NEWSOMS — Blanche Vaughan Whitehead, 89, passed away on Sept. 22, 2018, in Courtland Health and Rehab Center.

Mrs. Whitehead was born in Murfreesboro, North Carolina, and was a longtime resident of Branchville.

She was a daughter of the late Lee Roy Vaughan and Fannie Mae Cook Vaughan, and was also predeceased by her husband, Warner Vann Whitehead; three sons, Warner V. Whitehead Jr., Wayne L. Whitehead and Robert V. Whitehead; three brothers; and three sisters.

Mrs. Whitehead was a graduate of Murfreesboro High School, and a member of Branchville United Methodist Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Beverly W. Stewart (John;) one son, Gene Whitehead; and five grandchildren, Warner V. Whitehead III, Michael L. Whitehead, Adam E. Whitehead, Rachel R. Stewart and Jeremy W. Stewart; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 25, in Wright Funeral Home, Boykins Chapel, with Pastor Penny Rasnake officiating. Burial will follow in Beechwood Cemetery.

The reception will follow the service in the Boykins United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.
