On Oct. 25, Hampton Roads Dairy Queens held their annual First Responders’ Day. First Responders were treated to chili cheese dogs and a small blizzard that day. Several locations had emergency vehicles on site for a portion of the day.

Over $6,500 was collected that day from 20 percent of sales in addition to money collected in canisters from customers. A portion of these funds is being donated to Vigilant Watch Inc, a non-profit organization that provides assistance to First Responders in the Hampton Roads seven cities. In Windsor, Courtland and Franklin, funds will be distributed to the local organization.

DQ operators realize the importance of First Responders in our communities. These brave men and women deserve a lot of recognition for putting their lives on the line on a daily basis. This is Hampton Roads DQ’s way of showing our appreciation for all they do.
