A Southampton County deputy witnessed a two-vehicle accident on Meherrin Road between Southampton Parkway and Ridley Road on Feb. 4 at approximately 2:55 p.m. According to department spokesman Lt. Camden Cobb, one of the vehicles involved rolled over. Radio traffic indicated that all person’s involved appeared to be OK. Fire and EMS units have responded so that everyone can be medically assessed.

Traffic has been reduced to one lane on Meherrin Road, and deputies are performing traffic control to assist those passing through and those leaving the school parking lot.

It is unknown at this time if any of the persons involved are students or teachers or what caused the accident.
