Police investigating Bruce Street shooting

FRANKLIN

Franklin Police are investigating a shooting that took place on Tuesday evening.

According to department spokesman Capt. Tim Whitt, officers responded to the 300 block of Bruce Street at 10:50 p.m., where they discovered a 31-year-old Franklin man with a gunshot wound to his right leg.

The victim was reportedly intoxicated, and therefore, police were unable to obtain much information from him. He was transported to an area trauma hospital for treatment.

Prior to receiving the call about the gunshot victim, officers had already been dispatched to the Bruce Street area in reference to reports of multiple gunshots being fired. At the time, officers did not locate any victims or property damage after checking the area, however, area residents confirmed hearing gunshots.
