James Deloatch Jr.

FRANKLIN — James “J.T.” Deloatch Jr. of Duffy Street claimed his eternal rest on Feb. 27, 2019, while a patient at Southside Regional Medical Center in Petersburg, Virginia.
He was born to James Sr. and Helen B. Deloatch on Jan. 21, 1955 in Franklin, Virginia.
“J.T.” was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church where he served on the Trustee Ministry and as the media operator.
He was gainfully employed with Hewlett-Packard as a computer repair technician and retired in 2017.
“J.T.” was preceded in death by his father and son, Devin Deloatch.
His memory will live forever in the hearts of his daughters, Amber Charles and Davina Johnson (Conshario); three sons, Danté Britt (Tamiko), Jarvis Deloatch and Dominique Deloatch (Ashley); his mother, Helen B. Deloatch; two sisters, Lenora Jones (Winston) and Veretta Riddick (Donald); 21 grandchildren; three nieces; one nephew; cousins; and many other relatives.
Public viewing will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday March 3; also the family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. in the chapel at the Wm. M. Johnson & Sons Funeral Home.
The service celebrating his transition will be on Monday, March 4, at noon, in First Baptist Church, 318 Hall St., with the pastor, the Rev. Dr. D. Shawrod Riddick II, delivering the eulogy. His remains will be placed in the church for viewing by 10 a.m. The committal and benediction will be held in Southview Cemetery.
The service with dignity will be conducted by Wm. M. Johnson & Sons Funeral Home Inc., 224 S. Main St.
