FHS 4×100 relay team recognized

FRANKLIN
The Franklin High School 4×100 Meter Relay Team of LaSean Nichols-Porter, Myroen Barrett, Darius Eley and Thomas Maxwell recently competed in the VHSL 1A Outdoor Track State Championships at East Montgomery High School in Staunton.
The young men entered the event at sixth place with a time of 44.90 and finished in third place with a time of 44.74. The team finished third out of 19 relay teams.
The young men were presented Region 1A East Runner-Up and State medals.
Additional awards presented to them at the annual FHS Spring Sports Awards Night were: Coaches’ Award -LaSean Nichols-Porter; Outstanding Newcomer & All-Academic Award – Myroen Barrett; MVP and All-Academic Award – Darius Eley; and Track Sportsmanship Selection and All-Academic Award – Thomas Maxwell.
Each of these young men will be returning next year, except Maxwell, who is the only senior.
