Area will benefit from proposed sports complex

For the past few years, Camp Community College has made significant strides to create an athletic program through the formation of baseball and then softball teams, followed more recently by soccer for men and women. But the fun doesn’t stop there, no sir.
As you read in today’s edition, the college wants to create sports complex that would add a second baseball field, a softball field and men’s and women’s soccer fields.
We think this is the natural course of action to take. After all, why create teams if you don’t places for the games themselves?
Dr. Dan Lufkin, college president, is to be commended for having both the vision and leadership to launch the baseball and softball, etc.
True, there will be obstacles to creating the new fields and all they entail. But what project worth its salt has ever been done with ease? We’re confident that sooner (preferable) or later, the expansion will happen. When that does, then the interest and growth will follow.
We look forward to reporting on the project’s progress.
