SEDLEY

A Courtland man died as the result of an automobile accident in the early morning hours of Sunday, according to information provided by Maj. Gene Drewry, spokesman for the Southampton County Sheriff’s Office.

The department had gotten a call at 3:21 a.m. from a victim of the crash, who said there might be another person hurt. The responding deputy then took the caller in his patrol car and was able to locate the crash site at 3:45 a.m. At the scene, James H. Lee , was found dead as a result of the crash. Investigation showed that Lee, 20, was a passenger in the front seat of the vehicle.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
