To the Editor:
We are requesting the attendance and the help of members of the communities of Franklin and Southampton County in an effort to Save Our Youth.” On [Sunday,] Oct. 13, at 2 p.m., at the Sportsman Association Inc. building on South Street in Franklin, we will be observing the 24th anniversary of the historic 1995 Million Man March.

On this day there will be a special local and national program. The national program will be highlighted with a very special live webcast viewing of a message from the honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan on “Atonement, Reconciliation and Responsibility.”

The local program will kick off a year-long campaign promoting unity, respect and protection of our women, and a stop to the unnecessary violence and killing among our youth throughout Franklin and Southampton County. This phase of the campaign will end during the 25th anniversary of the Million Man March with a two-day program at the Courtland Community Center in Courtland, and will kick-off the next phase.
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” – 2 Chronicles 7:14
