Broncos roll over Brunswick Bulldogs with 32-14 win

After two weeks on the road, the Franklin Broncos returned to Armory Drive football stadium to claim their first home victory of the season with a 32-14 win over the Brunswick Bulldogs. This victory was very special because it was also the homecoming game and the field was packed with alumni and fans.
The Broncos took control of the game early with a 20-0 lead in the first quarter, which also held to half time. Bronco running back Tyvonne Carr had a good first half as he scored on runs of 40 and 70-yard touchdowns. He added his third touchdown on a 7-yard run in the fourth quarter. All total, he led all rushers with 336 yards. Quarterback Myroen Barrett added points on the scoreboard with two touchdown runs of 29 and 8 yards.
Coach Karl Robertson in comments after the game said, “We came out and played a decent game tonight — had a decent showing. We tried to put together something last week and were fortunate enough to get the win. But this week it was on to another opponent. We put things together and were able to be solid on defense. I think that led to potential opportunities on offense. We have to keep our heads together and continue to push forward. Keep praying, and I think that we will be all right in the end and on to the next week.”
Adding comments on behalf of the Broncos team by a player, Barrett added, “It was a good game, a homecoming win all this week. It was our goal to finish the game on offense, defense and special teams and stay together as a team. We had a great win here tonight. It was a great team effort and we look forward to going to Sussex next week.”
The Broncos will be on the road this week against Sussex Central High School at 7 p.m.
Homecoming King and Queen
During half time, the 2019 Homecoming Court was introduced and the representatives were escorted onto the field as the Franklin High School Bronco Band played. Kamon Walton was named Homecoming King, and represented by his mother, Tenecia Walton and brother, Jawun Walton; Homecoming Queen Takiyrah Britt; Prince Jacari Powell; and Princess Syliyah Fenner.
