FRANKLIN – Kenneth Lionel Evans was born July 18, 1965 in Franklin to the late Emma F. Evans. He departed this life at Vidant Roanoke Chowan Hospital in Ahoskie, North Carolina on July 10, 2021.
“Kenny” or “Fat Kenny” as he was affectionately known attended Franklin City Public Schools and graduated in 1984 from Franklin High, where he enjoyed being a member of the wrestling team. In 1987, Kenny earned a certificate in Modern Basic Welding from the American Institute of Occupational Trades.
After living in northern Virginia for several years, Kenny returned to Franklin and began his long career as a maintenance tech for McDonald’s for 25 years.
His memory will forever be cherished by his four sisters: Arleathia E. Peck, Jacqueline E. Scott, LaToya D. Evans and LaToshia S. Evans (Derrick Joyner); two uncles, two aunts and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral service for Kenny will be held on Saturday, July 17, at 11 a.m. in Vaughan-Temple Funeral Home in Franklin.
