SUFFOLK – Mrs. Katie Knight, 96, transitioned from this life on Aug. 22, 2021. As a retired educator with the Southampton County School System, she was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Johnnie Knight, owner of Knight’s Garage in Holland.

Mrs. Knight is survived by five adult children: Joan (Julian) Marsh, Julpenia Hill, Johnnie Lorenzo (Naomi) Knight, Andri Avon (Sandra Diane) Knight and Gwendolyn Darrell (James) Green. She also leaves a sister Hilda Abram, a brother Enoch (Jean) Copeland; 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends.

Viewing is scheduled on Thursday, Aug. 26 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Peebles Funeral Home. A life service will be held outside of Laurel Hill United Church of Christ on Friday, Aug. 27, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Carl Sweat presiding. COVID restrictions require that masks are worn. A burial rite conducted by the Holland Chapter No. 62, OES-PHA will follow at the gravesite. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Laurel Hill Laurel Hill United Church of Christ, Franklinton Center at Bricks Fund (FCB).
