The Rock Church School soccer team earned a huge Class 1A North Conference win recently to improve to 4-0 on the season.
The Rock Lions defeated the Victory Christian Eagles by a score of 6-3. The game went back and forth and was close at halftime with a score of 1-1.
Rock Church came out strong in the second half and scored a quick two goals, giving it a lead of 3-1. The Victory Eagles would come as close as 4-3 before Rock scored two more goals to put the game away.
D.J. Dillon led the Rock Lions with five goals, while Will Pittman put in one.
Dillon has scored 21 goals in the last four games, giving him an average of more than five goals per game.
The Rock Lions currently hold the first-place standing in the Class 1A North Conference.
“We are so excited to be a part of this conference and to play against strong soccer programs,” Rock Lions Coach Danny Dillon said. “What D.J. Dillon has done in these four games is something I’ve never seen in 22 years of coaching. It is special to watch.”
Next up, the Rock Church Lions will face off against Suffolk Christian Academy and then travel to the Victory Christian Eagles for a rematch.
Dillon said, “We hope to continue to get better and better and finish first in the North Conference to give us a shot at the Class 1A Title in October. These kids play hard and show the love of God each and every game.”
