I have just turned 92 and have had little experience with hospitals. On Oct. 3, I had a bad fall on the cement, which required me to go to the emergency room for stitches on my forehead. The next day, I began having a tightness in my chest, and my children called 911. The EMS arrived immediately, and I was impressed with their performance and expertise. 

After a thorough examination, all symptoms indicated I was having a heart attack. I was taken back to the hospital emergency room and admitted later that day. Dealing with COVID-19 and being short-staffed did not prevent the hospital staff from being kind and doing everything they could to keep me comfortable and informed. I want to thank each staff worker who had anything to do with my care while I was a patient. Thumbs up for a job well done. I also want to thank the food staff for serving delicious meals.

Much to my surprise, I received follow up calls from the hospital about my progress at home. They truly care about their patients. We are fortunate to have Bon Secours in Franklin. I can’t end without mentioning the Southampton Memorial Hospital home care group. They too are great and do an outstanding job. In life, something good usually comes out of something bad.
