COURTLAND – Lois Darden Turner, 85, widow of Clyde “Junior” Turner, passed away Dec. 7, 2021 in Sentara Obici Hospital. A native of Isle of Wight and a member of Burdette Baptist Church, she was one of 16 children of the late Elmer Darden and Martha Gardner Darden.

Left to cherish her memory is two daughters, Faye T. Johnson and Janet T. Kerkove; three sons, Steven Clyde Turner (Kathy), Daniel K. “Danny” Turner and Henry Ray “Ray Ray” Turner (Sarah); a sister, Nell Kauss; two brothers, James “Bruh” Darden (Judy) and Cliff Darden; 12 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 10 in Wright Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Poe officiating. Burial will follow at Southampton Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home and suggests that memorial donations be made to Burdette Baptist Church.
