VIRGINIA BEACH – Richard Hardeman Bradshaw, 72, departed the planet Earth on Feb. 10, 2022. Born in Franklin, he was a son of the late Elmer Amos Bradshaw Jr. and Constance Peters Birdsong. He was also predeceased by his brother, Elmer A. “Tres” Bradshaw III.

Richard attended Franklin High School, Hargrave Military Academy and Stephenville High School in Stephenville, Texas. He was a graduate of Tarleton State University with a degree in industrial technology. Richard was a technology teacher with the Virginia Beach City School System before retirement in 2005.

Left to cherish his memory is his stepbrothers, Hank Birdsong of Virginia Beach, Warren Birdsong (Penny) of Smithfield; a stepsister, Corinne Birdsong Winburn of Alexandria; an aunt, Ray P. Bradshaw of Franklin; a sister-in-law, Brenda Bradshaw; several cousins and a good friend of many years, Ashley Heyden.

Services will be private. Memorial donations are welcomed to the Food Bank of Southeastern Virginia or a charity of your choice.
