Franklin officials say to avoid Campbell Ave. area after possible explosion

The Hunterdale Volunteer Fire Department sent out a request on social media shortly after 11 p.m. Friday, April 15, asking people to avoid the Campbell Avenue area at all costs as the agency helps to put out a working structure fire there.
Franklin City Manager Amanda C. Jarratt stated via email at 11:51 p.m. Friday that at approximately 10:50 p.m., a call was received to the city of Franklin dispatch center regarding a potential explosion in the 600 block of Campbell Avenue.
She noted that there were two injured, with one victim being airlifted to a trauma center and the other transported to a local medical facility.
“At this time the matter is under investigation,” she stated. “City officials are asking individuals to stay clear of the impacted area.”
The Hunterdale VFD Facebook post, published at 11:12 p.m., stated, “Crews are currently on scene on Campbell Ave for a working structure fire. Please avoid this area at all costs while crews work this incident.”
