Raymond B. George, 92, passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2022 at the heart hospital at Norfolk Sentara.

He is predeceased by his first wife, Edith George; parents, Thomas and Bessie George; brother Bill George; and sisters Dorothy George and Rosa Mae Crompton.

He is survived by his loving wife, Vicki; his three children, Ray George Jr. (Gail), Robin McLean (Archie), and Lisa Robertson (Dale); four grandchildren, Jay George (Maggie), Angie Thornton (Jason), Missy McLean (Jeff), and Andrew McLean; seven great-grandchildren, Kaylee George, Kendall George, Rachel Thornton, Brenner Thornton, Sammi Wright, Edie Wright, and Sierra Wright; three sisters, Alice Newsome, Marie George, and Shirley Radford; and a brother, Franklin George.

Raymond was an electrician at Union Camp for 43 years. He enjoyed his work there as well as his woodworking hobbies. Each family member and many others were recipient of his woodwork. He was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church and enjoyed participating in mission trips to Eastern Shore. He was a proud Korean War Army Veteran.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00p.m. Saturday, July 30^th at Beaver Dam Baptist Church. There will be visitation after the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church or to your favorite charity.
