The Back-to-School Community Day will be held on Friday, Aug. 26, from 4-8 p.m. at the Armory Complex, which is located at 910 Armory Drive.
A Franklin City Public Schools news release noted that the school division, the Franklin Department of Parks and Recreation and various community organizations are joining forces to make the return to classes an eventful one.
There will be free school supplies, including backpacks, as well as an opportunity for families to meet FCPS teachers and staff. Water wars, raffles, a live DJ, touch-a-trucks, inflatables, vendors, free swimming and food will also be featured. The event is to provide support to the entire family.
At 8:30 p.m. on the athletic field, the movie “Space Jam: A New Legacy” will be shown.
This event is being made possible through the generous sponsorship of the city of Franklin, Celebration Church, Enviva, Empowerment and Uplifting Foundation, Franklin City Police Department, Pink is Powerful Cancer Group LLC and TaylorMade Fitness.
