PETERSBURG – George Lewis Blount, 71, passed away in his sleep on Oct. 13, 2022. A native of Franklin, George attended Windsor High School.

George was a fun loving guy. He was quick with a joke and loved to laugh. He made many life-long friends and lived a full life. George was known as a “Jack of all Trades.” He was skilled in welding, auto mechanics, carpentry, crane work, home construction and various other skills. He designed and built many custom projects.

He was sought out for his many talents.

George is survived by his daughter, Melody Marie Blount; son, William Charles Blount; sisters, Cora Sue Long and Donna Harrison; and 3 grandchildren.

A gathering of family and friends to celebrate the life of George will be held on Saturday, Oct. 29, at 11 a.m. at Wrights Funeral Home in Franklin.
