Lady Dukes finish ’22 schedule at 8-0

Windsor High School’s varsity girls basketball team completed the 2022 portion of its 2022-23 regular season schedule with an unblemished 8-0 overall record.
The Lady Dukes played their last game of the year Friday, Dec. 16, routing visiting Tri-Rivers District foe Surry County High School by a score of 55-36.
Freshman Mariah Stephenson led Windsor on offense with 20 points, while senior Melissa Carr was also a leading contributor with 12 points.
Windsor (8-0, 5-0 Tri-Rivers) returns to action Wednesday, Jan. 4, when it hosts Nansemond River High School at 7 p.m.
The Windsor varsity boys basketball team was also victorious Friday night, defeating visiting Surry County 46-29 to improve to 5-1 overall, including a 4-1 mark in the district.
The Dukes are not quite done in 2022, as they will participate in a tournament Thursday, Dec. 29, and Friday, Dec. 30, at Franklin High School. On Dec. 29 at 7:30 p.m., they will play Franklin (7-0, 5-0 Tri-Rivers), the only team to beat them thus far this season.
