Franklin High School’s varsity girls basketball team closed out its week with a 52-38 road win over Tri-Rivers District foe Greensville County High School on Friday, Jan. 13.
With the victory, the Lady Broncos avenged a 48-34 home loss to the Lady Eagles earlier this season.
On Friday, Franklin junior guard Ariana Picot led her team with 17 points to go with seven rebounds, three assists and a steal. Junior forward/center Roshanda Hoskie grabbed her first double-double, with 16 points and 14 rebounds, to go with two blocked shots.
Also contributing significantly to the Lady Broncos’ triumph were senior guard Arbani Wiggins, with 10 points, seven assists, three boards and three steals, and sophomore forward/center Mykira Barrett, with 10 rebounds, two blocks, two points and one steal.
Franklin (9-5, 5-3 Tri-Rivers) returns to action Wednesday, Jan. 18, at 5:45 p.m. when it hosts Brunswick High School.
