Tane R. Ramsay

WINDSOR – On Sunday, Feb. 19, 2023, Tane Quentin Rhodes Ramsay went home to her heavenly father, after being sick for many years. She was the daughter of the late Glenn Quentin and Colleen Rhodes Williams (John Wendell Rhodes Sr.). She was also predeceased by her brother, John Wendell Rhodes Jr.; her sister, Susan Skinner; her son, Glenn Louis Case and a brother-in-law, Hank A. Drake.

Tane was a daughter, sister, mother and grandmother. She loved people so much so if she was rich she would have given it all away. She was a member of Living Hope Community Fellowship and a member of the Woman’s Club of Windsor. She had a degree in business management from Commonwealth Community College, a degree as a wedding consultant and planner and she was a caterer.

Tane was previously employed at Sentara Obici. She was owner/operator of the From the Heart bakery for years. She had many apprenticeships in the culinary world and held positions at many restaurants. Her hobbies included cooking, baking, canning, reading and she loved to write poetry and paint. You name it and she could turn anything into butter. But most of all she loved her family and friends. She often said being a grandmother was the greatest gift. It wasn’t grandma she was called, she was their Nanny.

She is survived by her husband, Harry L. Ramsay; two daughters Jamie Casey (Terry) and Lisa Case; two sisters, JoTee Drake and Bonnie Edwards; a brother, Joseph Tran Rhodes; five grandchildren, Sebastian Brock, Harley Casey, Kevin Rawlings Jr., Nena Case and Damien Casey and a host of nieces and nephews and many friends.

The family would like to send our sincere thanks to the entire hospice team and Meals on Wheels for all they have done. In lieu of flowers please donate to your local food bank and/or your church food pantry. Two things in life she wanted everybody to remember: to be kind to one another and always remember who you are.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 23 in Living Home Community Fellowship with Dr. Kevin Myatt officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Wright Funeral Home in Franklin.
