FRANKLIN – William Edward “Billy” Drake Sr., 60, passed away unexpectedly on March 17, 2023 in his home. Born in Portsmouth and raised in Franklin, he was a son of the late Emmitt Edward Drake and Louise Jordan Drake.

Billy attended Franklin High School where he played football and baseball and was our favorite town meat cutter. He was a devoted father and grandfather and his grandkids best friend. Billy never knew a stranger and would give his shirt off his back if needed.

Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Crystal Drake Beale; his brother, Barry L. Drake and five grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 23 in Wright Funeral Home. The family suggests that memorial donations be made to any favorite charity.
