Area students graduate from James Madison University

James Madison University recently announced that almost 900 students received undergraduate and graduate degrees during its December commencement exercises, including area students from Southampton County and Isle of Wight County.
A JMU news release noted that Adriana Magette, of Courtland, and Takira Bradshaw, of Newsoms, each earned a degree in nursing; Sarah Aston, of Windsor, earned a degree in integrated science and technology; and Olivia Bowen, of Zuni, earned a degree in communication studies.
Founded in 1908, JMU is a public university located in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley. The school features world-class faculty who drive education innovation and support advanced research. JMU also has the highest post-graduation job levels of all Virginia colleges.
