For this year’s annual celebration Wawa turned the spotlight on its staff and customers. Staff were allowed to dress down in jeans and a favorite Wawa T-shirt. Customers enjoyed free coffee for the day and one lucky staff or customer was honored with the title of “Day Brightener.” The Franklin Wawa chose customer Layla Lopez as their “Day Brightener.” Food and Beverage Manager April Fowler noted that Layla is always saying hello to other customers, talking to everyone who works here, smiling, and laughing. “She just brings pure joy to our day. We honestly miss her when she doesn’t come in.” Layla received a sash, mug and photos on the Wawa website. It is easy to see why Wawa chose Layla, her smile brightens our day too!
