FRANKLIN – Jesse Thomas Evans Sr. was born May 8, 1942 in Southampton County to the late William and Roxie Evans. He departed this earthly life in peace in his home on June 29, 2023, with his devoted son at his side.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 8 at the Saint Luke AME Zion Methodist Church, 509 W. Third Avenue in Franklin. The interment will be held in the cemetery of Corinth Chapel Church, 7945 Corinth Chapel Road in Suffolk.
