BOYKINS – Sharon Theresa Hasty, 77, passed away July 31, 2023 in Sentara Obici Hospital. Born in New Brunswick, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Gillings Sr. and Rose Often Gillings. She was also predeceased by a son, Theodore Tenzlinger Sr. and a brother, Joseph Gillings Jr.

Sharon was a retired nurse for Southampton Memorial Hospital.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 33 years, Robbie Lee Hasty; a daughter, Tara Tenzlinger of New Jersey; two sons, Thomas Tenzlinger and Todd Tenzlinger (Rosalee), both of New Jersey and seven grandchildren, Theodore, Thomas, Amanda, Alexandra, Charles, Olivia and Alexa.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 5 in Newsoms Baptist Church with the Rev. Tom Wallace officiating. A reception will follow the service in the Fellowship Hall. The family will receive friends at the residence and suggests that memorial donations be made to the Newsoms Baptist Church Building Fund, 29347 South Main Street, Newsoms, VA 23874.
