The budding scientists from Nottoway Elementary School’s second grade class continue their exploration of weather, from cloud study to weather patterns and how weather affects the agricultural industry.
A school news release noted that a few weeks prior, the students each received a rain gauge, courtesy of Farm Credit’s kind donation, and took them home to track how much rain water they could log over the rainy weekend.
The students have also been tracking the daily weather and providing weather reports over the morning announcements for the whole school to hear.
The class then welcomed Jim Pope as he spoke with the students about farming and how it relates to weather.
“The school would like to thank Brenda Simms from Farm Credit and Jim Pope for their partnership in the education of our students,” NES officials said.
