WAKEFIELD – Eunice Kitchen Britt, 95, of Wakefield, passed away on Friday, Jan. 19, 2024. Born in Southampton County on Jan. 2, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Maggie Rawlings Kitchen. She is preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Samuel Lee Britt Sr.; brother, William Kitchen; sister, Jackie Sullivan and son-in-law, Terry Mason.

Eunice was a longtime member of Wakefield United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening and treasured the time spent with her children. Eunice was the best mother anyone could ask for and always put her family first.

She is survived by her son, Samuel Lee Britt Jr.; daughters, Cindi Britt Mason and Sandra Britt Vasser; sister, Huntus Duke (Lemuel); grandchildren, Sammy Britt III (Lindsay), Christopher T. Mason (Nina), Michelle Mason and April M. Stephens (Jacob); great-grandchildren, Terry and Candice Mason, Stormi and Taylor Stephens, Kennedy and Chase Britt.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 23, at 2 p.m. at Wakefield Cemetery officiated by Pastor Glenn Riggs. The family will receive friends on Monday, Jan. 22 from 6 – 7:30 p.m. at R.W. Baker & Company Funeral Home, Wakefield Chapel. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or American Cancer Society. Condolences may be posted at www.RWBakerFH.com.
