The Windsor Town Council held a productive work session Tuesday, Jan. 23, receiving a six-month fiscal year 2024 budget review, then reaching a general consensus to move forward on the discussion for a new town hall. The council also reviewed how the town’s remaining American Rescue Plan Act funds may be spent.
Town Manager William Saunders presented the six-month FY24 budget review, noting that total six-month revenues exceed estimates and total six-month expenses are below estimates.
He stated that the town’s overall financial condition remains sound.
Councilman Walter Bernacki led the discussion about a new municipal building and presented, along with Saunders, the design options that architects worked up back in 2016-17 before the project was tabled due to other capital projects being considered at the time.
There was general consensus among council members that they should meet again soon to advance the discussion after Saunders has had an opportunity to gather further information on the subject.
