FRANKLIN – William Franklin “Frankie” McFarland Jr., 64, passed away unexpectedly on April 30, 2024. Frankie grew up in Alexandria, Virginia and was the son of the late William F. McFarland Sr. and Betty Marie Sealock McFarland.
Frankie was an operations manager for Tinder Wholesale Company in Franklin. He was with the company 40 plus years. He enjoyed NASCAR races, the Dallas Cowboys, grilling and making barbeque, boating, going to Lake Gaston and once a month at Sanford’s eating oysters and socializing. Frankie loved to laugh and have fun. He enjoyed working, his family and his friends.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 29 years, Cindy Wellons McFarland; a son, Jason Aaron McFarland (Jamie); a sister, Teresa Ann Cobb (Shawn); two grandchildren, Jaxen and Jaden McFarland; his father-in-law, Floyd Wellons; and a brother-in-law, Woody Wellons (Connie).
A funeral service was held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 5 in Wright Funeral Home with Dr. Charles Qualls officiating. Burial followed in Poplar Spring Cemetery off of Homestead Road in Franklin. The family received friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home and suggests that memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association or your favorite pet shelter.
