The Franklin/Southampton Alumni Chapter of Virginia State University held a welcome back Trojan gathering on Thursday, May 23.
Mona Sumblin served as the mistress of ceremony at the activity held at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center. The main purpose of the gathering was to encourage former and new members to join the chapter. The program included food, fellowship, and fun. Participants were challenged to remember many important past memories and facts about Virginia State University.
The program closed with remarks from Treasurer Ernest Claud, Jr. about membership information/dues amounts and President Frank Davis, who addressed the chapter’s importance to the community and Virginia State University.
