Longtime area teacher reunites with former students

Several former students of longtime area high school English teacher Betty Miller happened to gather at a recent birthday celebration for Cecilia and Earl Burgess held in the Back Porch Restaurant at The Village at Woods Edge.
A news release from Anne W. Bryant noted that Miller primarily taught Senior English during her three years at Courtland High School from fall 1949 to spring 1952. She later taught Senior English at Southampton High School from fall 1955 through spring 1984. During that time she often taught multiple generations of students from the same family.
Now in her 90s, Miller still joins in at many class reunions.
