FRANKLIN – Brenda Boone was born in Franklin, Virginia to the late James Britt and Mamie Britt, one of four children. Brenda began her transition on Wednesday, July 3 in her home with her siblings at her bedside. On July 10, 2024, she departed her earthly life to claim her eternal rest and peace.
Brenda completed Hayden High School. She met and married Mr. Charles Arnold Boone, her one and only love. Later, she attended Norfolk State University for one year before she and her husband moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
She began her career at Presbyterian Ministers Fund providing insurance to ministers. She worked her way up to supervisor. Brenda also opened and operated a seafood market with a partner. When she retired from Philadelphia, she desired to move back to Virginia to be near her family. Brenda secured employment with Sentara Medical Corporation as a billing accountant for the Medicare division, where she remained until she retired to take care of her mother. She was a partner in her family business, The Gourmet Shoppe in Chesapeake, Virginia until it’s closure.
She leaves behind her siblings, Sandra Britt, Frankie Britt and James Britt of Chesapeake, Virginia; and her loving extended relatives, Don Britt, Andreas Britt and children: Imani and Imari, Paul Britt, Millie and children: Pierce and Zoei, Taene and Ciara, Joanne Richardson and children: Shawna Tolliver, Jaida Cureton, Jaliah Richardson, Rhonda Chambliss and daughter, Joronda Baxter, Barbara Brennan and Ray, James Johnson and Ivy and many other caring family members.
Brenda was a loving person. She helped many family members and never said no to anyone seeking help. She was loved and will be missed.
