The Isle of Wight County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect accused of suspiciously walking through private yards.
The agency posted to its Facebook page on July 26 that a male suspect was photographed pulling into driveways and walking around the exterior of private homes. Deputies say he fled when confronted by a resident, hitting a parked vehicle and the utility terrain vehicle the resident was operating.
The suspect was photographed driving an older model white, single-cam Chevrolet Silverado or GMC Sierra pickup truck either outfitted with an aftermarket dark gas cap cover or missing its original cover.
The suspect and vehicle are also reported to have been seen near construction sites in Carrollton.
The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who sees the suspect or who can provide information to help deputies identify him to call the non-emergency number at 757-357-2151.
