A year ago, I was crowned the 2023 Miss Franklin-Southampton County Fair Queen and started on the road of one of the best experiences of my life. I had no idea what I was in for because I had never competed in a pageant before. I was welcomed into the pageant community by the best directors, queens and parents I could’ve asked for. To say the least, this year has been an adventure. From countless community events to competing in the Miss Virginia Association of Fairs pageant, I have enjoyed every second.
To my sweet Wee Miss, little Caroline Drake, you always kept us on the go, but it made everything more fun! I thoroughly enjoyed our dance parties and getting to know you in your class at school… even when you wouldn’t let me put your shoes on after a nap.
To Kori Lynn, my Little Miss, your energy and confidence is something I aspire to have. I enjoyed your spunk and spirit you brought to every event and always wanting to play hide-and-seek, no matter where we were.
To Alayna, my Junior Miss, you were always the first one to jump in and help with anything, your hard work didn’t go unnoticed. Keep it up and you will go so far in life!
To Charleigh, my Pre-Teen Miss, you quickly became one of my favorite people, thank you for supporting me through everything. You are beautiful on the inside and out, don’t forget that.
To Payton, my Miss Heart, you are truly one of the sweetest and caring people I have ever met. Never lose your love and kind heart.
To Gabbie, my Teen Miss, you were generous and helpful in guiding me through how to be a “pageant girl.” You helped me understand what everything meant in a way nobody else could.
To Shannon, my Mrs., the amount of hard work and dedication you put into this experience has been admirable, you were there for us every step of the way, and I thank you for that.
To the pageant committee, I would have been lost without the support from all of you. I have learned so much from you all that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
To my family, I know the last thing y’all expected me to do was a pageant, but when I asked to compete, y’all were with me every step of the way. I love y’all forever.
To the next Miss Franklin-Southampton County Fair Queen, get ready because you are in for one of the best rides of your life. An experience that will last you a lifetime. People who will become your biggest cheerleaders and best friends. Memories that you can carry with you forever. Don’t take your time for granted, it goes by way too fast. This opportunity has opened my eyes and taught me so much.
Finally, thank all of you, my sister queens, my family, my pageant committee and Southampton County for this chance to represent you all, it has truly been a dream come true.
This is Caroline Blythe, your 2023 Miss Franklin-Southampton County Fair Queen, signing out.
