Warning period set to begin for Capron school zone speed cameras

The Southampton County Sheriff’s Office has partnered with Blue Line Solutions to introduce ASE LIDAR speed cameras in the Capron Elementary School zone on Southampton Parkway. The cameras will be operational in the mornings and afternoons of each school day. The speed limit in this area is 35 mph when the school zone lights are activated.
A 30-day warning period will begin on Sept. 3, 2024, and run through Oct. 3, 2024. On Oct. 3, 2024, violators will receive a summons to appear in court or pay a fine. The implementation of these cameras aims to encourage safe driving habits and ensure the safety of students and staff.
