BLACK CREEK – Ralphel Elliott Sr., “69” was born on June 8, 1956 to Lloyd Carlyn Elliott Sr. and Dorothy Mae Elliott of Black Creek, Virginia. On Aug. 17, 2024, the gates to heaven opened and God called Ralphel Elliott Sr. home to glory to be with him. (“And so shall we ever be with the Lord”). He was number six of 10 children. He was predeceased by his mother, Dorothy Elliott, father Lloyd Elliott Sr., sister Dorothy Laverne Urquhart, grandson Alson Cromwell III and a beautiful wife of over 40 years, Carolyn F. Elliott.
Ralphel was a graduate of Southampton High School. Throughout his lifetime he held many jobs. He worked for Firestone, The Suffolk New Herald, Blythe Well Company and retired from International Paper after over 35 years of service. He also was an awesome pastor of the New Refuge Bibleway Church. Two of his mottos was “Whatever, You Want Lord, I’ll Do Your Will” and “Before I take it back, I’ll add more too it.” He loved to hunt and fish. He also loved to play games with his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews such as basketball, “I Declare War,” and swimming at Joe’s house. He loved God and really strived to keep his commandments and was striving to do the will of God at all times.
Left to cherish his memory is his wonderful and beautiful wife, Jacqueline Fenton Elliott; his eight children, Candance Cromwell (Alson), Charity Elliott, Ralphel Elliott Jr. (Jamie), Lloyd A. Elliott Sr (Robyn), Johnathan Elliott (Christel), Joseph Elliott (Alissa), Amanda Hoskins (Tadarrian), Jacqueline Winborne (Thurman) and Peter Fenton (Brittani). He has a host of grandchildren that he loved so much. His grandchildren are Carlissa Lashay Jenkins, Ariel Elliott, Asia Blowe, Jackson Elliott, Lloyd A. Elliott Jr., Liam Elliott, Kyra Cromwell, Allyson Cromwell, Alyssa Cromwell, Ralphel Elliott III, Madelyn Elliott, Isaiah Elliott, Braxton Elliott, Curtis Elliott, Connor Elliott, Sariah Elliott, Aiden Elliott, Nadia Elliott, Ihari Mae Hoskins, Kennedi Winborne and Jordan Fenton. He also leaves behind four sisters and four brothers: Lloyd C. Elliott Jr. (Atelia), Melvin Elliott, Barbara Brodie (James), Eva Tillary, Larry Elliott, Eugene Elliott, Joyce Ricks (Floyd) and Angela Taylor (Gregory). He has a host of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and friends whom he loved so much.
His homegoing service will be held on Aug. 24, at the Apostolic Faith Church of God, at 608 Oak Street Franklin, Virginia 23851 at noon. His visitation will be held at his home church, The New Refuge Bibleway Church at 20228 Harris Road in Franklin from 4 – 7 p.m. on Aug. 23. You can follow us to the burial site.
