SUFFOLK – Tyrone Bracy Smith, 72, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Sept. 23, 2024. He was the son of the late Enoch James “E.J.” and Betty Jane Bracy Smith and was also predeceased by his father-in-law, Bruce C. Holland Sr.

Bracy was a loving and caring husband, father, PawPaw and friend to many. He was a 1970 graduate of Forest Glen High School and a 1974 graduate of Elon College. ays stayed busy in one of his shops, tinkering, working on something for one of his buddies or building something for himself. He was a self-taught welder, machinist, wood worker and trade electrician.

Bracy was a long-time and experienced Harley Davidson owner and rider. He and his wife, Arlene, loved to go on rides around the backroads and take trips to the mountains. Bracy loved his family, especially his grandchildren, Cole and Carlee.

He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Arlene Holland Smith; daughter, Danielle Smith Parker and her husband, Charles Milton Parker; grandson, Cole Bracy Parker; granddaughter, Carlee Rae Parker; sister, Denise Smith Barnes (Robert); mother-in-law, Helen Holland; brother-in-law, Bruce Holland Jr. (Pam); nephews, Damen Smith, Adam Holland (Amanda) and Allen Holland; niece, Karley Lester (John); great-nieces, Scarlet and Noelle Smith; great-nephews, D.J. Smith and Nolan Lester;and many cousins.. He will truly be missed by many.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28 in Colosse Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Tim Webb officiating. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Colosse Baptist Church Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund, 6361 Rhodes Drive, Windsor, VA 23487.
