Southampton County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Franklin man on Sept. 18 in connection with an abduction and robbery that allegedly occurred in the county on April 4.

A sheriff’s office news release stated that on Sept. 18, the SCSO developed information concerning the whereabouts of Dalveon Ricks.

The release noted that Ricks, 25, of Franklin, had active felony warrants pertaining to the abduction and robbery that occurred in Southampton County on April 4.

A previous SCSO news release stated that on April 4, a robbery occurred in the 25000 block of Oak Trail apartments. According to the release, deputies made contact with the victim, who advised she had been robbed in the parking lot of the apartment complex by three men. The victim’s purse, credit cards and cash were allegedly stolen. The victim told deputies she was physically assaulted and suffered a minor injury.

The first of the three suspects, Ricks, was charged on April 22, according to an SCSO release, which stated that Ricks was charged with two counts of abduction — the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, wearing a mask in a public place with intent to conceal identity, robbery, assault and battery, credit card theft, and grand larceny.

SCSO deputies obtained and executed a search warrant in the 600 block of Cameron Street in Franklin on Sept. 18, according to a sheriff’s office release. Ricks was apprehended without further incident and was transported to the Southampton County Jail.

The release stated that he received no bond, and his first court date was in Southampton County General District Court on Sept. 20.

A previous SCSO news release highlighted the arrest of the other two suspects.

Jayqwon Douglas, 24, of Franklin, was arrested on April 26 on charges of grand larceny, credit card theft, robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, abduction, and conspiracy to commit abduction.

Tyvon Goodrich, 22, of Emporia, was arrested on April 27 and charged with grand larceny, credit card theft, robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, abduction, and conspiracy to commit abduction.
