Arrests made in Drewryville burglary

Southampton County Sheriff’s Office made arrests Thursday, Sept. 26, in connection with a burglary that took place two days prior in Drewryville.
An SCSO news release stated that on Sept. 24, the sheriff’s office received a call for a breaking and entering in progress in the 11000 block of Old Belfield Road. Deputies responded and determined that one residence had been broken into by two suspects.
A K-9 track was attempted, but the suspects were not caught.
The release noted that detectives began to investigate and were able to identify suspects based on available security footage.
On Sept. 26, a search warrant was obtained for a residence in the 10000 block of Fortsville Road in Capron, the release stated. During execution of the search warrant, William Fenton Bryant was taken into custody. That same day, the second suspect, Navian Lee Wyche, turned himself in at the Southampton County Jail for outstanding warrants pertaining to this incident.
The release noted that Bryant, 19, of Stony Creek, and Wyche, 19, of Capron, were both charged with breaking and entering to commit larceny, conspiracy to commit a felony, and petit larceny.
Both men appeared in Southampton General District Court on Friday, Sept. 27, and did not receive a bond, the release stated. They are both being held at the Southampton County Jail.
The release concluded by noting that their next court appearance is scheduled for Dec. 10 in Southampton County General District Court.
