FRANKLIN – Dorothy Fortune Vick, 95, peacefully passed away at East Pavilion in Franklin on Oct. 31, 2024. She was born on April 15, 1929 in Clifton Forge, Virginia and was the only child of the late Margaret Simpson Fortune and Walter H. Fortune. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Darrow “Dick” Vick. Left to cherish her memory is her brother-in-law, Carroll Vick; sister-in-law, Joyce and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dot was a former resident of Richmond, Virginia and graduated from Pan American Business College and worked for the Department of Education in Richmond as a secretary for all of her working career. Dot was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Clifton Forge.

The family is grateful for her caretakers at East Pavilion and her private nurses, Sylvia Perry, Valerie Riddick, Sandra Brown and Carolyn Hill, who cared for her in her latter years.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 9, at 11 a.m. at Hollywood Cemetery in Newsoms, Virginia with the Rev. James H. Hyatt Jr. officiating.
