FRANKLIN – It is with great sorrow that the family of Sally “Josephine” Brockwell Twisdale Davis, announce her passing on Jan. 14, 2025. She was born in Brunswick County Virginia to loving parents Peter and Eva Green Brockwell Sr. She was one of six siblings. Preceded in death by Francis Orr, P.G. Brockwell Jr. and Phyllis Temple. Surviving brother, Clifton Brockwell “Doc” and sister Shirley Temple. They were always there for each other in every way possible. The love of her nieces and nephews was unmatched.
She married Edward Leland Twisdale in 1945. They were bles
sed with three children, Eddie Dean Twisdale, Jackie Twisdale and Pete Thomas Twisdale I. Her joy was her family and her children. In 1966, after moving to Franklin, Virginia, she was able to fulfill a lifetime dream of becoming a LPN nurse to help others. She was President of her class and set upon a 55 year career of quality caring service. Her passion was nursing Senior Patients. She retired at age 94.
She is survived by three grandchildren, Kris Twisdale of Knoxville, Tennesse, Pete Thomas Twisdale II of Newsoms, Virginia and Victoria Twisdale Leiter of Lake City, South Carolina; five great-grandchildren blessed her life and brought much happiness, Pete Thomas Twisdale III, Josephine Lorraine Leither, Cecilia Alexis Twisdale, Lillian Mae Leiter and Leland James Twisdale. She cherished the devoted family support and love of Wendy Vick Twisdale, Chelsea Pinner Twisdale, Nathan Leiter, Doug Hancock, Sandy Twisdale and Andrew Kline who made her life complete.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 18, at 1 p.m. at Oakwood Park Cemetery in Lawrenceville, Virginia with the Rev. Randy Martin officiating.
