People say I look like: My father, the late Russell R. Savedge Sr. Other people say I have been married to Larry so long that I have started to favor him.

If I could change my name, I’d make it: Cleopatra Clarke because it is my mother’s name or Emily Mary because it is was my grandmother’s name

Favorite movie of all time: “Daddy’s Little Girl” is my favorite movie because the father stood for what was right and fought with integrity for his family.

The secret to happiness is: Accepting yourself as the individual God created you to be. What people do to you or perhaps have done to you does not define who you are.

First car I ever owned: My husband bought me a new 740 GLE Volvo in 1985. It was a surprise birthday gift.

If I had to eat only three foods for the rest of my life, they’d be: Seafood, my mother’s collard greens and my mother-in-law’s candied yams

One superpower I wish I had: I wish I had the power to read the human mind. I would use this power to prevent malicious people from hurting or taking advantage of innocent people.

My most recent trip: I organized a group of 45 students to tour to Howard University and Morgan State University. The objective was to inspire them to go to college.

My life won’t be complete until: Philosophically, my life won’t be complete until my husband and I cruise around the world in our yacht. We are avid boaters and love spending time together on the water.

My friends think I’m: Fun, adventurous, innovative, talented, full of energy, honest and pleasant to be around

I really lose my cool when: Blessed individuals are insensitive to the needs of less fortunate people.

Favorite college sports team: Virginia Tech, because Larry played football there. He went to Tech on a full football scholarship in the 70s. Go Hokies!

What’s the best life lesson you’ve learned, and who taught you? My best life lesson is to work hard for what you want. Set goals and work to achieve them. God will give you the desires of your heart. My dad taught me this and my husband is a constant reminder of such. “Fret not! God knows all and he sees all!”

Which local charitable or nonprofit organization do you wish more people would support? I wish more people would support homeless and battered women shelters and relay for life. Project IMAGE is a nonprofit organization that I hope people will support in the future.

What’s your best childhood memory? My parents always set aside quality time for family vacations, entertainment, travel and church. Strong family values and unity were instilled in me as a child.
