WINDSOR — Bernice Lassiter Bostic, 87, was called to her eternal home on Friday, June 24, 2011. She was the widow of Haywood W. Bostic Sr. Mrs. Bostic was a native of Norfolk and retired from Franklin City Public Schools after 38 years of devoted service. She was a longtime member of Morning Star Baptist Church, where she held several positions.

She is survived by daughter Cheryl B. Monroe (Aaron) and son Haywood W. Bostic Jr. (Ellen); grandchildren Aaron II and Brandon Monroe, and Chaney and Elizabeth Bostic; one aunt; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.

A wake service will be held on Wednesday, June 29, at 7 p.m. The homegoing celebration will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 30. Both services will be held at Morning Star Baptist Church
